Autumn walk in the Lassithi Plateau
The departure is from Heraklion, while the route that will be followed is the following: Monastery of Panagia Kera, Psychro, Diktaeon Cave, Mochos.
Departure in the morning. We will take the road to the Lassithi Plateau. The first stop will be at the Holy Monastery of Panagia Keras, where we will worship and learn its history.
The intense geological activity that the Lassithi Plateau created in Crete millions of years ago, gave birth to a unique, rich and varied ecosystem, which we can enjoy in the village of Psychro, together with our coffee.
From here, as Greek Mythology testifies, the creation of a new world began, since in this corner of the earth is the cave of Zeus with the wonderful speleological decoration. Anyone can visit the Diktaeo Cave, one of the most important caves in Crete or the Theme Park of Greek Mythology and Minoan culture, through the representation of life-size exhibits made with great care. A fantastic experience!
Then making the tour of the Plateau, passing through the traditional villages of the Plateau, we will make a stop for lunch. On the way back we will drink our afternoon coffee in the traditional village of Mochos and we will take the way back.
