You can enjoy an unforgettable experience of crossing the gorge … But you can also skip it and have free time in the villages of Imvros and Komitades and a visit for swimming to Frangokastelo.

From Heraklion

Departure in the morning for the South of the Prefecture of Chania at the Eastern edge of the White Mountains where the Gorge of Imbros is located. Although smaller than the Gorge of Samaria, it offers a special experience. Extremely spectacular with the walls of the Gorge joining in many places, walkable to all, will give you an unforgettable experience.You will start from the village of Imvros and end after about 3 hours in the village of Komitades, where you can dine overlooking the Libyan sea.

Those who do not want to cross the gorge, but admire the route and swim in Frangokastelo can have free time in the villages of Impros and Komitades. Then go to Frangokastelo, with the Venetian fortress, where you will have time for a swim. The fine sand and the shallow sea with the turquoise waters will enchant you. Late in the afternoon, taking beautiful pictures, you will return to Heraklion.
